Learning from Nomads along their pathways
a no deadline project for human-environmental protection
EDUNOMAD, more than a project
More than just another project by YURTA Association, EDUNOMAD is the logical and natural outcome of being able to devote more time and resources to research and so gaining a deeper understanding of the world’s nomadic cultures. In an increasingly materialistic and politicized world, subject to further speculation and exploitation by states in their pursuit of ‘progress’, EDUNOMAD has emerged as a scientific response and a holistic vision about how we treat the world, according with the new parameters of global warming, destruction of ecosystems and vertiginous loss of biocultural diversity, taking into account future generations of living beings — and not just humans — as it is they who will inevitably have to coexist in this, our shared home during the future decades. In doing so, we are creating a kind of alternative approach to environmental education, the originality of which lies in the fact that it does not stem from official centres of learning but from indigenous peoples with nomadic traditions, who live in the closest harmony with and show the greatest respect for their respective natural environments.
